The project is a reconstruction of an old, existing house located in a small Mediterranean settlement, between densely packed houses, on a small, limited plot.

The old, existing house was integrated in the environment with its dimensions, volume, and aesthetics. According to the urban conditions, the reconstruction project had to meet all the existing parameters of the house. The idea of the reconstruction is to create a private external space that can support a range of uses in a warm Mediterranean climate and it is not overlooked by the neighbours and casual passersby.

Protected semi-outdoor spaces are achieved with a mesh of vertical metal profiles. Translucent metal structure complements the compact enclosed volume of the house. Together, they form a clean, white volume as a refreshing counterbalance to chaotic urban environment, giving the surrounding space a new value.
