House Footmarks, Brela, Croatia, 2016-
The house is located above the center of the small, tourist town Brela, with a great view on the sea and center of Brela.
The upper two storeys of the house form a simple volume made of the natural concrete that lies on the stone walls of the basement level.
The intention is to create a symbiosis between the indoor and outdoor spaces on each level – gardens on the ground floor that protect from the noise of the nearby road; summer kitchen that has a sea view through large openings on the first floor; roof lounge area with a small pool, greenery, and open view on the sea and massif of the mountain Biokovo. The connection between the indoor and outdoor living spaces is further emphasized by the use of natural concrete in the interior.
