Rogac Villas, Baska Voda, Croatia, 2017-
The houses are located on the border between two small tourist towns, Brela and Baska Voda. Very steep slope facing the sea imposed the placement of villas at the very top of the slope with a beautiful view on the sea and islands over the wood and hotel placed below.
The project won the first prize in the invited competition in 2017 and has two phases. In the first phase, it included four villas with the same shape, located in parallel down the slope. In the second phase, after the investor changed the project task, the initial solution was changed and replaced with three villas, all three of different shapes, but with the similar functional program and same architectural approach.
Both solutions have the same characteristics – natural concrete, clean forms, large glass openings blurring the boundaries between the indoor and outdoor spaces and making them a single whole. Greened flat roofs form a continuation of the green landscape creating the impression of extended gardens. The houses are very large and rich in content – each house has four spacious bedrooms with a private bathroom, large open living space, wellness area, tavern, and garage for four cars.
